Short version
Balentry stores all your financial data locally on your device. We don't collect it, sell it, or see it. There's no Balentry account. The only time your data leaves your device is if you choose to back up to your own Google Drive — and even then, we never have access to it.
Overview
Balentry is a personal finance app built for privacy first. We believe your financial records are personal and should remain under your control — on your device, in your hands.
What Balentry stores
Balentry stores the data you enter: accounts, transactions, categories, notes, and receipt images. All of this is written to a local database on your device. Nothing is transmitted to Waysoft or any third-party server as a normal part of app operation.
Local device storage
All app data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device using standard iOS and Android storage mechanisms. This data is only accessible to the Balentry app, subject to your device's own security model (passcode, biometrics, encryption).
When data leaves the device
Your data only leaves your device in two cases:
- → You choose to create a local backup file (exported to your device's file system).
- → You enable optional Google Drive backup — which sends your data to your own Google Drive account using your own Google credentials.
In neither case does Waysoft receive or have access to your data.
Optional Google Drive backup
If you choose to enable cloud backup, Balentry uses Google Sign-In to authenticate with your Google account. Your backup file is written to an app-specific folder in your Google Drive. Waysoft does not have access to your Google account or your Google Drive data. You can revoke this access at any time through your Google account settings.
Receipts and attachments
Receipt photos you attach to transactions are stored locally on your device alongside your other app data. They are included in backup files if you choose to create one. They are not uploaded to any Waysoft server.
Tracking and analytics
Balentry contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not track your usage, behavior, or device identifiers.
Support email
If you contact us for support, we receive only what you send: your email address and the content of your message. This is used solely to respond to your request and is not stored in any marketing system.
Your control
Because all data is local, you have complete control. You can delete the app at any time to remove all data. If you've enabled Google Drive backup, you can delete the backup file from your Google Drive directly, and revoke Balentry's access through your Google account settings.
